About the Recipe
Bibimbap, which means "mixed rice" in Korean, is a vibrant and nutritious dish that brings together a variety of vegetables, ground beef, and a sunny-side-up egg on a bed of rice. The dish is typically served with gochujang (Korean chili paste) for added spice and flavor. Ingredients
2 cups cooked rice
200g ground beef
Spinach, mushrooms, carrots, bean sprouts (about 1 cup each)
2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
4 eggs
Salt and sesame seeds for garnish
Preparation
Prepare Vegetables: Sauté each type of vegetable separately in a small amount of oil and a pinch of salt until just tender. Set aside.
Cook Meat:Â Marinate ground beef in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and a pinch of black pepper. Cook in a skillet until fully browned.
Prepare Rice:Â Place cooked rice into four bowls.
Assemble:Â On top of the rice, neatly arrange equal portions of the cooked vegetables and beef. In the center, add a dollop of gochujang.
Fry Eggs:Â Fry eggs sunny-side up. Place one egg on top of each bowl.
Serve:Â Drizzle sesame oil over each bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Mix well before eating.
